See permit information on next tab.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tPet Avocation Permit Information\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Pet Avocation permit was designed to allow those who are responsible pet owners in Omaha and Waterloo to have up to 5 dogs and up to 6 cats, but no more than eight pets total.<\/p>\n<p>Bellevue residents may apply for a pet avocation permit which allows up to 5 dogs and up to 5 cats &#8211; but no more than 6 pets total &#8211; unless they have a kennel, pre-existing cattery permit or commercial cattery permit.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to apply for a Pet Avocation permit, you must:<\/p>\n1.\u00a0 Pay a one time inspection fee of $100. *<em>Please note this fee is non-refundable once the inspection has been completed.<br \/>\n*This can be done online through the link below, in-person at NHS or by mail delivered to 8929 Fort Street, Omaha, NE, 68134 (attn: Pet Avocation Permits)<\/em>\n<p>2. Fill out an application. This needs to be done prior to the inspection.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0 Schedule the inspection when contacted by the Animal Control Officer\u00a0 This could take up to four weeks depending on demand.<em>\u00a0Because ACOs are responding to emergency calls, applicants must provide a four-hour window for inspections, which can be on any day excluding Sundays and holidays.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>4.\u00a0 Meet the requirements of the inspection and comply with all city ordinances relating to the animals (see standards below)<\/p>\n<p>5.\u00a0 You contacted annually to renew your permit. It is your responsibility to pay the annual renewal fee of $50.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/support.nehumanesociety.org\/site\/Ecommerce\/903613182?VIEW_PRODUCT=true&amp;product_id=2744&amp;store_id=2843\">Click here to renew.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>While you hold a Pet Avocation permit, should you be found guilty of any violation of Chapter 6, the permit will be revoked.\u00a0 Avocational premises shall be maintained with clean and safe conditions at all times.\u00a0 The Nebraska Humane Society has the right to inspect such premises and all the animals therein at reasonable hours to ascertain that the premises are kept in the aforementioned condition and meet prescribed standards.<\/p>\n<h3>Standards for a Pet Avocation permit:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>All animals owned, kept, possessed or harbored under a Pet Animal Avocation permit must be licensed as required by Chapter 6.\u00a0 Proof of individual license on each animal must be provided at time of inspection.<\/li>\n<li>All animals owned, kept, possessed or harbored under a Pet Animal Avocation permit must be vaccinated against rabies.\u00a0 Proof of individual rabies vaccinations on each pet must be provided at the time of inspection.<\/li>\n<li>Each animal shall, at least every 24 hours, receive food suitable for the species, physical condition and safe &#8211; If you prefer, you may enter your pet&#8217;s microchip number and your last name to access your account. Once you access your account, you may license existing pets, update pet ownership status and license new pets.<\/p>\n<p>If you are new to pet licensing, have a new pet to add, or you simply don&#8217;t have your account numbers handy, you still can license online. Simply click &#8220;Start New Registration&#8221; and enter your contact and pet information to continue with the license process.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\tAccount Numbers Not Recognized \n\t\t\t\t<p>Occasionally, an individual account in our online files may not be synchronized with our main database.
